Clarke becomes Governor General US Virgin Islands includes few photos of islands and home - St. Thomas, and much, much more! This is not your typical baby book. The mother of this marine corp officer's son had a husband that would become an important figure in the US Virgin Islands, do a lot of travelling around the US (some letters to son addressed to Tucson, Arizona) and she included not only her baby's own growth and development but avidly augmented the album with her husband and his and her family history ( a notable Scroggin Grandfather - cotton baron in Little Rock). It's all quite interesting, and the photos - perhaps 50 to 60 of them are varied and interesting including black nanny photos, numerous photos with toys for inside and outside play and much more. An altogether delightful potpurri of uppercrust baby raising and early school years 1919-1926. A note on condition; book is largely disbound, with missing spine, though both covers present along with colorful pre-printed graphics. There are approximately 50 to 70 pages crammed with items, some three dimensional that add to the colorful melange of life through a child's and parents eye's c. 1920.
